Bring the outdoors inside with our favourite scented candles

With Easter now behind us, it’s time to put away the cinnamon scents that kept your home warm over winter and turn to candles that bring lavender, summer berries and citrus fruits to every room. The Rachel Bates Fragrance Lab has plenty of luxury candles from artisans around the world and I’ve collected some of my favourite spring scents to share with you.

Rachel Bates Botanical Candle

This gorgeous candle was created after I wanted something to define the essence of my brand. After working with Ormonde Jayne in London, we decided that we needed a scent that reminds people of an English garden.

The result is a spellbinding scent, combining jasmine and rose with dashes of orange blossom, bergamot and summer berries. While wonderful at any time of year, this candle really captures the essence of spring.

Made exclusively for Rachel Bates, this candle is hand-poured in London and produced in an environmentally friendly way. The wax also burns evenly to ensure you can appreciate it in its entirety.

Due to the popularity of this candle, it is currently sold out. However, we are working on redesigning this joyful luxury and expect it to be back in stock soon. To be the first to know when it is back in stock, sign up to my newsletter using the form at the bottom of the page.

Peacock Hand-Painted Limoges Candle

This candle provides a fresh, flowery scent that complements the warmer weather that spring brings. Gently blending white flowers, the candle features tones of freesia and garden smells all brought together by a hint of lemon that creates something joyful.

The porcelain is delicately hand-painted by a team of skilled artisans in Limoges and features the signature Rachel Bates peacock design. Finished with 24-carat gold gilding, the result is a beautiful holder for the fresh flowery candle that’s bound to bring a touch of spring into your home. The candle comes in a variety of bright colours including amethyst purple, emerald green, fuchsia pink and turquoise blue.

When you buy one of these luxurious candles, you receive an extra wax refill alongside it. However, once all the wax is gone, you will still be left with a truly special piece that can be refilled and passed down to the next generation.

The burn time lasts for approximately 30 hours and additional refills can be purchased in packs of 4, 8 or 12. To order, get in touch with our concierge service at concierge@rachelbatesinteriors.com.

Sophie James’ The Fan

As I was looking for joyful luxuries to stock the Rachel Bate website with, I discovered The Fan, a beautiful floral candle that Sophie James releases around springtime, every year. The fragrance features spring lilies, freesia and jasmine, with hints of lemon, grapefruit and bergamot lifting the aroma which is accompanied by a base of musk, precious woods, amber and a little bit of dry fruit.

All these smells combine to create a relaxing aroma with calming properties and for me, they’re perfect to have around during Wimbledon season, so make sure you stock up for summer. When hosting friends, it helps set the scene as the strawberries and champagne are passed around and you feel like you’re watching the tennis from Henman Hill.

While the candle is released seasonally, I fell so in love with it that I decided to stock it all year round.

Alexia Peck’s The Provence

This candle is perfect for spring and summer as it conjures up scents that will transport you to the meadows of France’s Provence and bring an essence of tranquillity to everyday life. Infused with the scents of white geranium, lavender, juniper, thyme, bergamot and amber, this floral candle will help you embrace spring and prepare for summer.

Alexia Peck has always excelled with presentation and this candle is no exception. Each one comes with a stunning paperweight that is designed to provide a visual companion to the soothing scents.

With a burn time of 40 hours, the Alexia Peck Provence candle is an amazing gift or addition to your home.
