THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE MALTESE CROSS COLLECTION. 

The 'Maltese Cross' collection was inspired by Rachel's Love of the Maltese Cross in art, architecture and fashion combined with classic Byzantine style jewellery, which was favoured by the fabulous Gabriella 'Coco' Chanel throughout her lifetime and during the 1930's in her collaboration with Fulco di Verdura. Rachel grew up surrounded by a very glamorous Mother and Aunts, all with their own unique style, who loved jewellery. The Maltese Cross and all manner of bejewelled crosses on chains, rows of pearls and vintage jewels of all kinds were always in abundance in her Mothers jewellery boxes and Rachel and her sister Katie would spend hours looking at them and admiring them from a young age. Today Rachel herself, has quite a collection of both antique, vintage and modern costume jewellery. Her latest collaboration with Ciner has allowed her to use her creative experience from her time in jewellery, product and interior design with expert Ciner know-how accompanied by a 127 year old archive for inspiration, to create a signature Maltese Cross Jewellery Collection for the wearer of today, with all the elegance and style of the past in-mind, creating something timeless, that's fun and sophisticated to wear dressed down with your jeans and a white cotton shirt or with a dress for cocktails with friends.
