Creepy Halloween Cocktails for your Spooky Soirée

As October draws to a close, the night of wicked witches, ghastly ghouls and mummified monsters is firmly upon us. As darkness falls across the land and the midnight hour draws close at hand, Rachel Bates has the cocktail recipes to help you resist the evil of the thriller.

Whether you’re hosting a costumed night of elegance or a sophisticated spooky soirée, we’ve partnered with the award-winning Cheshire-based distiller, Forest Gin to bring you some exclusive cocktails that will keep any party going long past the Witching Hour.

Corpse Reviver No 2

A cocktail so refreshing, it’ll bring even the spookiest spirits back to life. The absinthe is optional but guaranteed to provide a kick strong enough to raise the dead.

Corpse Reviver Gin Cocktail

Ingredients

30ml (1fl oz) Forest Gin
30 ml (1fl oz) Cointreau
30ml (1fl oz) Lillet Blanc Vermouth
30ml (1fl oz) Fresh Lemon Juice
2 Dashes of Absinthe (Optional)

Shake all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with ice and double strain into a chilled glass.

The Rachel Bates Isadora & Cristobelle Autumn Champagne Saucers are perfect for presenting this creepy concoction.

Harry Craddock, Cocktail Master at Fox Gin says:

“This cocktail is moreish, but be careful, four taken in quick succession will unrevive the corpse again.”

Pumpkin 75

This adaptation of the classic French 75 is designed to bring a terrifying twist to a sophisticated cocktail. Perfect for any dinner party hosted by the Addams Family.

Pumpkin 75 Gin Cocktail

Ingredients

30ml (1fl oz) Forest Gin
30ml (1fl oz) Fresh Lemon Juice
30ml (1fl oz) Pumpkin Puree
Champagne to top up

Pour the gin, lemon juice and pumpkin puree in a cocktail shaker and strain into a chilled glass. Finish by topping it with Champagne, Rachel Bates recommends Laurent Perrier.

Based on the French cocktail Soixante Quinze, this drink dates back to World War 1. Such a timeless classic can only be consumed in an elegant glass and Rachel Bates recommends the Isadora & Cristobelle Autumn Champagne Saucers.

Autumn Lady

The Autumn Lady isn’t just perfect for your spooky soirée, it’s a seasonal cocktail that will go down well at any gathering. This autumnal spin on a classic sweet cocktail will help you surprise your ghoulish guests with your newfound mixology skills.

Autumn Lady Gin Cocktail

Ingredients

40ml (1+1/3fl oz) Forest Gin
15ml (1/2fl oz) Dry Vermouth
20ml (3/5fl oz) Fresh Lemon Juice
20ml (3/5fl oz) Apple & Cinnamon Puree.
1 Egg White

Dry shake (no ice) all the ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake vigorously to create the perfect foam. Fine strain into a chilled glass before garnishing with a slice of apple and a sprinkle of ground cinnamon.

To make this cocktail look truly amazing, Rachel Bates recommends pouring this into a piece of crystalware from the Isadora & Cristobelle Autumn Champagne Saucers.

If you’re planning a sophisticated Halloween party, then these cocktails are easy to make and perfect for impressing your guests with. The Rachel Bates crystalware range includes collections perfect for all seasons, so even as Halloween draws to a close, our Autumnal colours will continue to add an important touch of elegance to every kind of event you plan on hosting.
